Introduction

Do White Christians Choose Whiteness Over Righteousness? is a theological and moral rebuke directed toward White Christians who, knowingly or unknowingly, uphold Whiteness—defined as a social construct rooted in superiority, partiality, and division. It argues that this construct has deeply shaped the American church and continues to distort Christian unity, righteousness, and witness.

I am a fellow Christian who happens to have been blessed with darker skin. However, some White Christians demonstrate that God created darker skinned people with less purpose and brilliancy than He created them. To those White brothers and sisters who hold any value in their Whiteness, I write this as an urgent love letter to you—to address your sin with full rebuke. I care for your soul as a sister should if indeed, we are siblings in the family of God.

Whiteness in the Church

White Christians, please ponder the following:

1. What about your church is inclusive and welcoming to non-Whites?

2. Do you understand that perpetuating the image of Jesus and other Bible characters only as White people is noninclusive? Does that concern you?

3. Do you see the value in diversifying the illustrations, songs, and language, etc. used in your church service to demonstrate inclusivity—that all men are equal?

White Christians have not shown a righteous posture with a bona fide attempt to unify the church across color lines? If there were a genuine attempt to unify the church in this manner, the White church would acknowledge that the framework of the American church stemmed from Whiteness (partiality and division) which is a sin. Whiteness is a social construct whereby those who are classified as such are viewed as superior to all others. Anyone who gives value to this social construct holds "a membership to that community. . .that must be continually renewed. . . to reaffirm that whites deploy gratuitous derogatory terms and racist violence, or tolerate it in others" (“Racialized Whiteness, Invention of Whiteness, Semiotics of Whiteness; the Virginia Colony, the Development of Slavery, the Structure of Racialization, Bacon’s Rebellion, White Supremacy, the Patrols, Social Paranoia.” Berkeley.edu, 2026, www.ocf.berkeley.edu/%7Emarto/semiohst.htm). In other words, to be certain that Whiteness lives on, those who subscribe to it either disseminate the partiality/hate or perpetuate it with silent complicity.

‌Where did Whiteness come from? It was created by European colonists during the seventeenth century who considered themselves highly favored of God as Christians and deserving of a greater reward – at the expense of others that they classified as heathens. Therefore, they justified enslavement upon non-Christians. The unsaved who would become privy to scripture and believe in Christ and subsequently become ineligible to remain a slave would destroy the economic system that thrived from the backbreaking labor of the enslaved. To embrace a brother or sister in Christ fell flat, when standing up against what Whiteness wields. So, as the unbelieving began to believe, the legal claim for slavery had to be changed to perpetuate it. "As enslaved and formerly enslaved people converted, the colonists changed the language in their law books to replace the word “Christian” with the word “white” (Gebner). Skin color became the new demarcation to continue the sin of partiality.

Most White Christians did not consider themselves as equal to others even in the church. In fact, they taught enslaved Africans (Blacks) that the Bible legitimized their enslavement. Some slaves remained Christian in secret and held their own worship services. "Other slaves, along with free blacks, had belonged to biracial congregations controlled by whites, many of which required black members to sit in the back of the church or the galleries during services" (“America’s Reconstruction: People and Politics after the Civil War”). And of course, either a White Christian was present to indoctrinate them or oversee the service to be certain that the enslaved teacher taught the other Blacks how to be submissive to their White Christian brothers (“The Secret Religion of the Slaves | Christian History Magazine”).

We all know that in Christ, there is no White nor Black church. However, Whiteness demonstrated otherwise. For White people to pretend to have no understanding of this is preposterous. I can only conclude that there is a very real ability to deny any and everything, especially with deceitfully wicked hearts. It is important to understand that we, mere humans, would never have known the wickedness that fills us if not enlightened. We would continue to view our understandings and feelings as valid and preeminent over the word of God. But God made sure to let us all know that"The heart [is] deceitful above all [things], And desperately wicked; Who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9, New King James Version). For a Christian to not know that separation in the church is an absolute and hard “no” is beyond comprehension. The Bible makes it so plain. “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus” Galatians 3:27-28). Paul expresses how pertinent it is to keep unity in the church that he asks urgently and fervently:

“I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, . . . endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. [There is] one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who [is] above all, and through all, and in you all” (Ephesians 4:1-6).

Whiteness is so narcissistic that it ignores righteousness and perpetuates racial division in the church to the world. However, a converted heart recognizes this and is compelled to call it out as sin—and address it on purpose. Even those outside the church see it and call it out. What a demonstration of unity to the world!

If you are concerned about evangelism, why does it not show? Do you value all humanity with a need for salvation before God? Where is your appeal to other communities? Where is your depiction of the diversity of all God’s people in your books, presentations, or hangings on your walls? As a Christian who proclaims Christ, where is your demonstration of inclusivity? Remember that you all created the division. So, don’t you think it’s fitting that you make purposeful attempts to unify the church? Consider your behavior; it may be a stumbling block for many—even yourself:

“Therefore, to you who believe, [He is] precious; but to those who are disobedient, "The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone," and "A stone of stumbling And a rock of offense." They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed” (1 Peter 2:7-8).

You say you believe but stumble over Christ’s word because you don’t obey what you believe. Whiteness in the church can cause others to stumble; it may turn people away from the God of the Bible because of its misrepresentation. Whiteness in the church proclaims Jesus but is antithetical to the core teachings of Christ. And since I am a member of the church, I speak lovingly and frankly toward you and judge:

"For what [have] I [to do] with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? But those who are outside God judges. Therefore "put away from yourselves the evil person” (1 Corinthians 5:12-13).

So, I "Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment" (John 7:24). Whiteness, however, judges from an outward appearance.

The Idolatry of Whiteness

Now, as I am studying, I’ve come to an understanding that Whiteness functions as a god. While reading over First Corinthians chapter five, an understanding began to develop. White Christians who don’t or won’t recognize Whiteness for what it is, need to look much deeper into this. Verse 11 of this same chapter reads, “But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner--not even to eat with such a person” (1 Corinthians 5:11). Among those mentioned to disassociate with is an idolater. Those who pronounce Christ and are guilty of such wickedness are commanded to not be a part of the fellowship. So, let’s look at Whiteness compared to idolatry. Could the church be misunderstanding idolatry on several counts? Yes, and that includes those children of God who either think, believe, or behave in accordance with Whiteness.

The following is a list of a few definitions of idolatry or idols:

2) Essentially, idolatry is worshiping anything created instead of the Creator. What Is Idolatry?

3) These idols are not statues or images we might think of from ancient times; instead, they are more subtle and insidious. They manifest in the form of self-worth, career success, and personal accomplishments. What’s Your Idol? Recognizing Modern-Day Idolatry | Church of Christ Global

John expressly addresses all of us: “Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen” (1 John 5:21).

Whiteness discounts the principles of the Truth of the Bible to give itself glory! Whiteness lifts Whites to distinguish others as inferior. God lifts Himself and is Superior. Whiteness maintains the order of the construct and assures that those who qualify gain favoritism. God maintains the order of salvation through Jesus and assures that those who qualify—submit to Jesus and endure to the end – gain everlasting life. Whiteness continues to spread Whiteness to perpetuate the ideology. God selected prophets of old to disseminate His word; Jesus selected disciples/apostles to teach and spread God’s word; we are called out to spread the gospel of God’s word. Whiteness mandates its law deciding who receives grace (pardons, benefits, promotion, dividends, etc.) and mercy (little to no consequences for illegal acts and disregard for perpetual demonstration of poor character traits). God is the God of grace and mercy, and His law has been fulfilled in Jesus— who calls us to obey Him. “And the LORD passed before him and proclaimed, "The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth,” (Exodus 34:6). Can you now see how Whiteness parallels with a god? Anyone whose ideology aligns with Whiteness has submitted to it (the idol) rather than God. Many of you deny it but have counted the construct of Whiteness superior to the will of God. You’ve succumbed to it. To succumb to something, one must not be able to resist it when challenged. So, has the idea of Whiteness overcome your faith to stand on the Truth?

Even though there is no literal bow to Whiteness, you may have given allegiance to it because of its power and provision. Some of you cherish Whiteness and will protect it with your life—will die for it. Remember January 6, 2025. Some of you participated; some of you cheered them on. Some of you white Christians will swear that they risked their lives (while taking others’ lives) to fuel the America that you desire to live in as well—an America that disregards non-white people because of the skin that God selected for them; an America that belittles non-whites for the country that God placed them in; an America that has no compassion for the disenfranchised; an America that lifts whiteness above God; an America of partiality. And many of you refused to rebuke such wickedness. This is what Whiteness does and is designed to do—keep that beast roaring and devouring—because it is a god—not God. One must serve Jesus to know God. Without knowing Him—understanding what it is to love Him, your acts of misled and false worship do not honor the God of the Bible. Those who stormed that capital were willing to lay down their lives for themselves not Christ because God received absolutely no glory in that display of unrighteousness. So, please take time to understand the meaning of “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, [which is] your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what [is] that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:1-2). Scripture encourages us to live by Godly standards. But if we must choose to die rather than live in ungodliness, then we choose death . . . but only for one’s allegiance to Christ not for America nor ourselves. Jesus speaks to it, and so does Paul:

·        "For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's will save it” (Mark 8:35). “Then Paul answered, ‘What do you mean by weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus’" (Act 21:13).

We are not to regard injecting ourselves into harmful circumstances for ungodly principles to be holy and acceptable unto God nor martyrdom. This is what happened on January 6. Did it edify the church? Did it glorify Christ? That wicked behavior which Christ abhors, glorified the enemy. I am convinced that there will never be repentance from the “good ol’ boys club” because those in it, idolize it. However, I’m prayerful that guilty White Christians will come to recognize this:

·        “And [do] this, knowing the time, that now [it is] high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation [is] nearer than when we [first] believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light” (Rom 13:11-12).

God’s Word Calls for Rebuke to Christians Walking in Whiteness and to Christians Who Do Nothing About It

Rebuking calls brethren up from sin. It is often necessary in the process of reconciliation by way of repentance and forgiveness. To those who subscribe to this Whiteness ideology, consider yourselves rebuked. To rebuke is a discipline that we should all lovingly run toward, not away from. We (the saints) are to hold one another dearly and desire none of us to miss heaven. So, if you know someone in the church who is in sin, confront them in hopes of restoring them but gently because it is possible for you to stumble and need the same. Paul instructs us in this manner, “Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who [are] spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted” (Galatians 6:1). Listen to what is said here. The sin has caused brokenness where a brother was once joined to the family, and if there is no repentance, he remains in need of reconciliation. Here, it is made plain that we, who are spiritually mature, are to lovingly bring attention to the matter. We are not to be harsh because we understand that we walk in loving-kindness. However, we acknowledge the sinful state of our brother in Christ. So, we are to hold them accountable and call them up. To rebuke in this manner is better than loving one so quietly in your heart that it does not call one to repent which leaves them in sin and separated from the body of Christ. “Open rebuke [is] better than love carefully concealed” (Proverbs 27:5).

There is no way that the offender and the offended should remain in fellowship in God’s family having not been properly reconciled. God’s word tells us how to handle offense in the church: "Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift” (Matthew 5:23-24). We have not been reconciled to God until we have been reconciled to our brother. It is extremely paramount that this is understood. God says to not pray or give offering until you have sought forgiveness. Knowing this should compel all of us to do right by one another. It means that the one who continues in known, willful sin—whatever the sin—without properly repenting from it is in trouble of missing Jesus, even after all the love that He demonstrated for us all. Repentance, forgiveness, and reconciliation are deeply imbedded throughout the whole of the Bible and necessary for righteousness. White Christians be careful not to think that you have not offended other Christians. I say to you now, some of you have and continue to do so. And even if you haven’t in deed, you may have in your heart.

So, let’s consider the White brother who views all men as equal. If he knows brethren who perpetuate whiteness but chooses to remain silent, he may very well be guilty of perpetuating whiteness as well. Brethren who try to remain neutral, who choose to not become involved, are neither hot nor cold but lukewarm—ineffective and in need of rebuke as well. Any of God’s children who tolerate a sibling who spews micro-aggressions (prejudices that are harmful to any one of God’s creations) toward other siblings-in-Christ and does not defend the one harmed is the problem according to the Bible. Listen to John address this:

"By this we know love because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down [our] lives for the brethren. But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth” (John 3:16-19).

We are to care for one another. Learn to “Open your mouth for the speechless, In the cause of all [who are] appointed to die. Open your mouth, judge righteously, And plead the cause of the poor and needy.” (Proverbs 31:8-9) And to my point, how will Whiteness ever achieve this? It won’t. But love will. Love will have compassion for anyone treated unjustly—unbiblically. Because if a mere raised eyebrow, shrugged shoulder, and/or a smirk for any brother or sister having been unrighteously judged, mistreated, slandered, killed, offended, etc., is your response, maybe you shouldn’t be considered brothers or sisters in God’s family because the Bible tells us, “A friend loves at all times, And a brother is born for adversity” (Proverbs 17:7). We have brothers and sisters in Christ to encourage us to endure and help whatever—whenever—however. There is no question that we are to “Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. ... But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another” (Galatians 6:2). We are to love and support one another in this wicked world—to help one another press toward the mark, not drift further away from it. We are to help others, but they are to examine themselves and what they do. Once turned, they will appreciate that they have grown in their walk. Consider how James informs us to go after someone who is turning from God:

“Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.” (James 5:19-20).

Rebuking turns the heart of some—postures them to love all of us in the church as Christ does. The only way that one can love one another as Christ loved the church is to love as Christ commands. Jesus says, "If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.” (John 15:10). The prophet Samuel taught, “. . . ‘Has the LORD [as great] delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, [And] to heed than the fat of rams’” (1 Samuel 15:22). So, what does this mean? It plainly means that sacrifice under the old covenant (works) were assigned as consequences of nonadherence to the law (sin). In a society with laws as such, the practice was to make the proper sacrifice and go on with one’s life. But Samuel communicated truth—that God delights in obedience.

Those in Christ, live under the new covenant of grace where Christ graciously shed His blood to cover our sins. His sacrifice was necessary once and endures forever. This new covenant of grace requires that we believe that Jesus’ self-sacrifice was indeed gracious, having nothing owed to us, and planned in antiquity to save us from the sin that would bring us separation from God. This salvation requires one thing: our obedience to Christ which is self-sacrifice—just as Christ made unto the Father. This is what taking up your own cross means: to willingly agree to hang your old self on a cross to die knowing full well that you’ll be raised up having become your new self with newness of life (now eternal) as a new creation (spiritual son or daughter) in Christ Jesus. Jesus teaches, "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you” (John 15:13-14). Christ calls us friends if we obey. So, what does that make us if we disobey? So, lay your old self down, and prove that you’ve been raised up in Christ. Everybody must do the same. If you have any qualms about this, search your heart and pray. Obedience is paramount.

Whiteness in the church sends the message that the church does not believe that all men are equal and do not have the fundamental understanding of God’s character – who He is. Again, under this sentiment, either White people are not in the family of God, or all others are not in the family of God. Peter explains, “. . . ‘In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.’” (Acts 10:34-35). To value yourself and others whom you feel meet the classification of Whiteness as superior, proves that you don’t know the God of all creation and the possibility of you loving others as you love yourself is impossible. As I’ve stated before in other posts, your transgression of the first commandment is the reason you fall short of this second commandment: “'And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' This [is] the first commandment” (Mark 12:30). If you don’t love God with your everything, there is no way you’ll be able to love your neighbor because you don’t know God. To know God is to understand that you must wholeheartedly accept God in His entirety, totality, and inclusivity of all His will. You must recognize His family as beautiful and broad with many members serving in different capacities. Scripture tells us that we help one another “From whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love” (Eph 4:16). To not walk in this manner under the banner of Christianity is, again, a stumbling block. Refusal to accept parts (members) of the whole unit (body) which efficiently supply the body with strength which promotes growth, divides the church. The church lacks love and does not edify itself. The Bible is clear about how we are to respond to those who are divisive:

"Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them” (Rom 16:17).“Reject a divisive man after the first and second admonition, 11 knowing that such a person is warped and sinning, being self-condemned” (Titus 3:10-11).

So, anyone causing division and offenses that result from unbiblical teachings and principles is to be rejected once he/she is rebuked and does not repent. However, the precedent is also set for when the church is commanded to acknowledge separation as good:

·        "Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish. "Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. "But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that 'by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.' "And if he refuses to hear them, tell [it] to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector (Matthew 18:14-17).

So, again, when a brother or sister does not repent from their sins after a rebuke, they are to be treated as a non-believer. The Bible teaches that we, in the church, are to appropriately rebuke sin. So, the rebukes need to come swiftly and effectually. And from my study, I conclude that many White Christians are not in the family of the God of the Bible. White Christians who uphold this Whiteness movement must repent (and turn away from it and hate it as Jesus does) to be reconciled back to the church. Likewise, White Christians who don’t hurt for any of your brothers’ and sisters’ who endure mistreatment, misjudgment, and/or rejection by word or deed as an equal member of God’s family, must also repent. You must stop favoring some siblings in sin; rebuke them to make sure that you are in the faith. Peter wrote meticulously to explain why he needed to remind us of this always:

"But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, . . . to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, [you] will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. For this reason I will not be negligent to remind you always of these things, though you know and are established in the present truth. Yes, I think it is right, as long as I am in this tent, to stir you up by reminding [you],” (2 Peter 1:5-13).

There should be a desire to help the brethren come to repentance. Their life depends on it. Willful sin requires repentance to be forgiven and reconciled. So, if you’re guilty of behaving this way toward a brother or sister in Christ, if you have opportunity, repent to them. If you are guilty of witnessing such behavior yet doing nothing about it—having not responded on behalf of your harmed brother or sister, if you have opportunity, repent to them and rebuke the offender. Let the word of God hold us all accountable.

White Christians, Stop Making Excuses and Clean Yourselves Up

Why is it that Christians think that Christ and the Holy Spirit are going to do all the work when there are several scriptures that inform that we are to make a conscious effort to stay away from sin? John 5:14 and John 8:11 commanded those who had been healed or forgiven to stop sinning. Jesus did not say, “You will sin no more;” he commanded them to consciously repent: “For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries” (Hebrews 10:26–27). How, then, can one be complacent and comfortable in sin – any of them? “For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!” (Rom 6:14-15, NKJV). We know or should know that willful sin brings judgment. God will judge rightly by adhering to His word, so you should be careful to read it and heed it. "He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him – the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day” (John12:48).

In Christ there is no partiality—of any kind. Those who bear the name of Christ are commanded to love one another. So, why are there so many excuses for poor behavior toward one another? Excuses cannot cover the evil in one’s hearts. Jesus said it so plainly, "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks” (Matthew 12:35).

I hear Jesus either imploring or commanding, "But why do you call Me 'Lord, Lord,' and not do the things which I say?” (Luk 6:45-46). Either way, I am convicted. Jesus holds us accountable for claiming His name. We are instructed to clean ourselves up if we proclaim Jesus as Lord. Timothy illustrates, “But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work” (2Tim 2:20-21). If you examine yourself, which we are all commanded to do, and find any area of sin, you must clean it up!

You Are Responsible for Your Sin (Examine Yourself)

When Christ said that we are in Christ and the filthy stain is washed away in Him, please understand this to mean that you are responsible now, for walking His way. There is no regimented sacrifice to bring to the altar. Christ has settled that; however, to stay grafted into His grace—to endure, you must believe Jesus unto obedience. Jesus tells us to remain in His love to be pardoned by the Father. Jesus had to obey His Father to remain in His Father’s love. In John 15:10, Jesus explains how we remain loved by Him: "If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.” This is pertinent to salvation. Jesus explains that we are graciously grafted in but can be removed because of our willful disobedience. Jesus informs us in John 15:6: "If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered and they gather them and throw [them] into the fire, and they are burned.” Remember Jesus will let His word be the judge. His word will not allow Him to forsake you; however, His word tells us exactly what will happen to us if we don’t abide in Him. Those of us who refuse to abide in Him cause themselves to be cast out.

Since partiality is a sin toward the body of Christ – prejudice, racism, bigotry, etc. – it disunifies the church. “Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, that you may with one mind [and] one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God” (Romans 15:5-7).

The whole of the Bible is an informative tool and instruction guide for those who believe in the God of Creation and His redemptive plan to save us from our sins through His Son Jesus. God demonstrated love with His grace through Christ Jesus, and contrary to what has been taught by many, He desires and seeks love in return. We don’t know how to love Him by any other measure than that which He demonstrated toward us. Jesus committed to fulfill the commandment of His Father to abide in His love and shares with us that we must commit to fulfill His (Jesus') commandments to abide in His love. This is the only way to be reconciled to the Father. So, commit to loving Jesus His way. If your faith is in Jesus, then you believe Jesus is who He said He is, and you will sacrifice your life to honor His life – on purpose. You will love Him the way He recognizes love.

Know that your heart needs a checkup:

“My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him. For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God” (1 John 7:18-21). This does not mean that because God is so great, He will overlook our wicked heart which condemns us. It means that He knows what’s in your heart. He continues to say that those who have hearts that do not condemn are assured by what our hearts produce: love by our works.

"Examine yourselves [as to] whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified” (2 Cor 13:5).

“But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, [you] will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Pet 1:5-11).

Obedience requires a willing heart to follow His Way – the Way that comes easy, as well as the Way that challenges and transforms the wickedness of one’s character. Don’t allow the sin of partiality to cause you to miss heaven. Recognize it, acknowledge it, repent from it, live uprightly before God, and obey—LOVE GOD!

Conclusion

White Christians, the time for excuses is over. Whiteness has discipled some of you more faithfully than Christ, and the fruit of that allegiance is division, partiality, and silence in the face of sin. You cannot claim the name of Jesus while protecting an idol that contradicts everything He commands.

If you uphold Whiteness, you must repent. If you tolerate it, you must repent. If you stay silent while your brothers and sisters are harmed, you must repent. Scripture does not give you the option to ignore sin in the body of Christ. It commands you to confront it, reject it, and restore those who have fallen—including yourselves.

Christ will not share His throne with idols. You cannot serve two masters. Either you crucify Whiteness, or it will crucify your witness. Either you choose righteousness, or you choose rebellion. Either you walk in unity, or you walk away from the God who shows no partiality.

The call is simple, but not easy: you must examine yourselves. Listen to the Spirit. Lay down any allegiance that competes with Christ’s lordship. Choose unity over partiality, humility over pride, obedience over tradition, and love over silence. The church cannot flourish while any of its members cling to an identity that divides what God has made one.

I urge you—to let Christ remake your heart. Let His Word correct you. Let His love soften you. Let His Spirit lead you into repentance, reconciliation, and righteousness. The family of God is wide, beautiful, and diverse, and you are invited to walk in it fully—if you are willing to surrender the idol that has kept you from your brothers and sisters.

May the Lord grant you courage to face truth, grace to repent, and joy in the unity He desires for His people.
